Settings — Pickup and Delivery

Feature Overview

Pickup and Delivery settings control everything about how your restaurant handles off-premise orders — both curbside or in-store pickup and direct delivery. By configuring this section correctly, you define whether guests can place pickup or delivery orders online, how far in advance they can schedule them, how long orders take to prepare, and what delivery zones and fees apply.

How It Affects the System

  • Pickup Settings determine whether guests can place online pickup orders through the Katalyst diner app or ordering page. Disabling pickup here removes the pickup option from online ordering entirely.
  • Pickup lead time sets how many minutes in advance a guest must place a pickup order (e.g., 15 minutes minimum). This prevents orders from being placed with an impossibly short prep window.
  • Delivery Settings control whether delivery is offered, and configure delivery zones, minimum order amounts, and delivery fees. Only guests within a configured delivery zone will see delivery as an option.
  • Common Settings apply to both pickup and delivery — such as maximum order advance time (how far in the future a guest can schedule an order) and any other shared restrictions.
  • These settings are configured per Revenue Center — use the Revenue Center tabs to set up each location or zone separately.

Prerequisites / Requirements

  • Restaurant edit or view permissions are required.
  • A Revenue Center must be active and selected.
  • For delivery, your restaurant must have delivery zones defined. Contact Katalyst support if you need assistance setting up delivery zones for the first time.

Common Troubleshooting / FAQs

Q: Guests cannot place pickup orders even though I've enabled the option. Verify that Hours of Operation for takeout are configured for the selected Revenue Center under Settings > Hours of Operation. Pickup orders are only accepted during active takeout hours. If hours are correctly set and guests still cannot order, confirm the Revenue Center is correctly selected in Settings > Pickup and Delivery and that the pickup toggle is switched on.

Q: A guest says they were not offered delivery to their address. Delivery eligibility is determined by your configured delivery zones. If the guest's address falls outside your defined delivery area, the delivery option will not appear for them. Review your delivery zone settings and expand the coverage area if appropriate. If you need to add or modify complex delivery zones, contact Katalyst support for assistance.
