Viewing Guest Book Details

Feature Overview

The Guest Book gives you access to a guest's full profile within Katalyst — their visit history, loyalty activity, and any notes stored against their account. Accessing a guest's book from a review card lets you put their feedback in context — understanding how often they visit, what they typically order, and whether this is their first or fifteenth experience at your restaurant.

Prerequisites / Requirements

  • Your account must have Reviews view or edit permissions.
  • The guest must have submitted the review through a registered Katalyst account. Anonymous reviews do not have an associated Guest Book.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. On the Reviews page, locate the review card for the guest whose profile you want to view.
  2. On the review card, click the guest's name or the Guest Book icon if visible.
  3. The Guest Book Details dialog opens, displaying the guest's:
    • Full name and contact information on file
    • Visit history — dates and details of their previous visits
    • Loyalty activity — points balance and redemption history (if the loyalty program is active)
    • Any notes saved against this guest's account
  4. Review the guest's history and profile as needed.
  5. Click outside the dialog or press X to close it.

Common Troubleshooting / FAQs

Q: The guest's name on the review card is not clickable. The Guest Book is only available for registered Katalyst account holders. If the guest checked out anonymously or without creating an account, their name will not link to a Guest Book profile.

Q: The Guest Book shows no visit history for a guest who has dined with us many times. Visit history is tracked through the guest's registered Katalyst account. If the guest made previous visits without linking a Katalyst account at checkout, those visits will not appear in their Guest Book. History begins accumulating from the first visit where they authenticated with their account.
