Market Pricing

Feature Overview

Market Pricing gives you a single, consolidated view of every menu item and its current price — making it fast and efficient to update prices across your entire menu without navigating into each individual item. You can also toggle item availability (active or inactive) from this screen and view a complete pricing history for any item.

Prerequisites / Requirements

  • Your account must have Menu view or edit permissions.
  • A Revenue Center must be active and selected.

Step-by-Step Guide

Viewing All Item Prices

  1. In the left-hand navigation sidebar, click Kitchen Hub.
  2. Under the Menu group, click Market Pricing.
  3. A list of all menu items with their current prices is displayed, organized by section.

Updating an Item's Price

  1. On the Market Pricing page, locate the item whose price you want to change.
  2. Click the item to open its price editing field.
  3. Update the price to the new amount.
  4. Click Save to confirm. The new price applies to all future orders immediately.

Toggling Item Availability

  1. On the Market Pricing page, locate the item you want to activate or deactivate.
  2. Click the Active / Inactive toggle next to that item.
  3. Inactive items will be hidden from the POS and guest-facing ordering until reactivated.

Viewing Pricing History

  1. Click on any item in the Market Pricing list.
  2. The item's detail panel includes a pricing history section showing all past price changes with timestamps.
  3. Use this history to verify when a price was last changed and what the previous price was.

Common Troubleshooting / FAQs

Q: I updated a price in Market Pricing but the POS is still showing the old price. Price changes take effect after the POS device syncs with Katalyst. Ask staff to refresh or restart the POS application on the affected device. If the price has not updated after a few minutes, return to Market Pricing and confirm the new price is saved correctly.

Q: I cannot find a specific item in the Market Pricing list. Use the search or scroll function to locate the item. If the item was recently added and does not appear, refresh the Market Pricing page to load the latest menu data.
