Editing Table Details
Feature Overview
Each table on your floor plan has configurable details — including a table name or number and a seating capacity. Setting these details accurately is important because the table name is what your staff will see in the Reservations Grid view, and the capacity helps the system manage booking availability correctly.
Prerequisites / Requirements
- You must be in the Floor Layout editor for the correct Revenue Center.
- Your account must have layout edit permissions.
Step-by-Step Guide
- In the Floor Layout editor, click on the table whose details you want to update.
- A Settings Panel opens alongside or below the canvas, showing the editable properties for that table.
- Update the following fields as needed:
- Table name or number — the identifier your staff will use (e.g., "Table 12" or "Bar 3")
- Seating capacity — the maximum number of guests this table accommodates
- Any other available properties displayed in the panel
- The canvas updates to reflect the new name and details immediately as you type.
- Click Save in the toolbar to preserve all table detail changes.
Common Troubleshooting / FAQs
Q: I updated a table name but the old name is still showing in the Reservations Grid view. After saving the layout changes, the Reservations Grid may need a page refresh to load the updated table names. Navigate away from the Reservations page and return to it, or perform a hard refresh with Ctrl+Shift+R (Windows) / Cmd+Shift+R (Mac).
Q: I set a table's capacity but the system is still allowing reservations that exceed it. Table capacity interacts with the turn time and cover settings in Settings > Reservations & Table Management. Capacity is one of several factors in the booking logic — review those settings if overbooking is occurring despite correct capacity values.
