Adding Walls and Room Dividers
Feature Overview
Beyond placing tables, the Floor Layout editor allows you to draw walls and room dividers on the canvas to represent the physical structure of your dining space. Adding walls makes the floor plan more accurate and readable — clearly showing where the kitchen entrance is, where a partition separates the bar from the dining room, or where a private dining room begins.
Prerequisites / Requirements
- You must be in the Floor Layout editor for the correct Revenue Center.
- Your account must have layout edit permissions.
Step-by-Step Guide
- In the Floor Layout editor toolbar, click the Wall Mode toggle button to activate Wall Mode.
- The canvas enters Wall Mode — the cursor changes to indicate you can now draw walls.
- Click and drag on the canvas to draw a wall segment. Release to set the wall in place.
- Draw as many wall segments as needed to represent the boundaries and dividers in your dining room.
- To exit Wall Mode and return to table editing, click the Wall Mode toggle button again to turn it off.
- Click Save in the toolbar to preserve your wall additions.
Common Troubleshooting / FAQs
Q: I accidentally drew a wall in the wrong place. Can I delete it? Click on the wall segment you want to remove to select it. A delete or remove option should appear in the toolbar or a contextual menu. Select it to remove the wall segment from the canvas.
Q: I cannot activate Wall Mode — the button appears grayed out. Wall Mode requires that you are in the standard layout editing view, not in Merging Mode or Preview Mode. Exit any other active mode first, then try activating Wall Mode.
