Merging Tables

Feature Overview

Merging tables lets you combine two or more adjacent tables into a single reservation unit. This is useful for large parties that require multiple tables pushed together — rather than showing them as separate bookings, a merged table appears as one combinable unit in the Reservations Grid view, making it easier to seat and manage large groups.

Prerequisites / Requirements

  • You must be in the Floor Layout editor for the correct Revenue Center.
  • Your account must have layout edit permissions.
  • At least two tables must exist on the canvas to create a merge.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. In the Floor Layout editor toolbar, click the Merging mode button to enter Merging Mode.
  2. On the canvas, click the first table you want to include in the merge to select it.
  3. Click each additional table you want to combine with the first.
  4. Selected tables will be highlighted to indicate they are part of the merge group.
  5. Confirm the merge by clicking the Merge or Confirm button that appears (the exact label depends on the interface).
  6. The merged tables now function as a single reservation unit in the Reservations Grid view.
  7. Click Save to preserve the merge configuration.

Common Troubleshooting / FAQs

Q: I merged tables but they still appear as separate units in the Reservations Grid. After saving the merge in the Floor Layout editor, refresh the Reservations Grid view. Navigate away and return to the Grid view, or perform a hard page refresh to load the updated layout.

Q: I need to un-merge tables. Can I reverse a merge? Return to the Floor Layout editor and enter Merging Mode. Select the merged table unit and look for an Unmerge or Split option. Confirm to restore the tables to their individual state, then save the layout.
