Kitchen Hub

Inventory Overview

Feature Overview

The Inventory section of the Kitchen Hub is an add-on feature that connects your menu to your food costs and supply chain. When enabled, it provides three core tools: Recipes (linking menu items to their ingredients), Ingredients (tracking stock levels and costs), and Invoices (logging vendor purchases). Together these tools let you monitor your cost of goods, reduce waste, and make informed purchasing decisions.

Note: The Inventory section is only visible if the Inventory feature has been enabled for your restaurant account. If it appears blurred or locked, contact Katalyst at [email protected] to join the Beta program.

Prerequisites / Requirements

  • The Inventory add-on must be enabled for your restaurant account. Contact [email protected] to request activation.
  • Your account must have Menu view or edit permissions.
  • Vendors should be configured in the Vendors section before logging invoices.

Common Troubleshooting / FAQs

Q: The Inventory section is blurred and I cannot click into it. The Inventory feature is an add-on that requires account-level activation. The page displays a message directing you to contact [email protected] to join the Beta program. All Inventory sub-sections will remain locked until activation is confirmed.

Q: I have Inventory enabled but my recipe costs seem incorrect. Recipe costs are calculated based on the ingredient unit costs entered in the Ingredients section. Verify that all ingredient prices reflect your current actual costs — outdated ingredient costs will cause recipe and food cost calculations to be inaccurate.
