Switching to Grid View
Feature Overview
Grid view displays your reservations as a visual, floor-plan-style layout rather than a text list. Tables are shown on a digital map of your dining room, color-coded by availability or occupancy status. This gives hosts and managers a spatial understanding of the floor at a glance, making seating decisions faster and more intuitive.
Prerequisites / Requirements
- Your account must have Reservations view or edit permissions.
- A floor layout must have been built for the selected Revenue Center in the Floor Layout section. Grid view is unavailable if no layout exists.
Step-by-Step Guide
- On the Reservations page, locate the Grid tab or button in the control bar (represented by an icon showing a table layout or grid pattern).
- Click the Grid tab to switch from List view to Grid view.
- Your dining room floor plan will display, showing all tables and their current reservation status.
- Tables with active reservations are visually distinguished from available tables.
- Click any occupied or reserved table on the floor plan to open the Reservation Details dialog for that table's booking.
- To return to the List view, click the List tab in the control bar.
Common Troubleshooting / FAQs
Q: The Grid view option is not visible or is grayed out. Grid view requires that a floor layout has been built for the selected Revenue Center in the Floor Layout section. If no layout exists, this view is unavailable. Navigate to Floor Layout to set up your dining room and then return to Reservations to use Grid view.
Q: Tables are missing from the Grid view even though I built a layout. After saving a new or updated layout in the Floor Layout section, the Reservations Grid may need a full page refresh to load the changes. Navigate away from the Reservations page and return to it, or press Ctrl+Shift+R (Windows) / Cmd+Shift+R (Mac) to perform a hard refresh.
