Floor Layout

Previewing the Layout

Feature Overview

Before saving and publishing your floor plan to your team, the Preview mode lets you see exactly how the layout will appear to staff in the Reservations Grid view. This lets you catch any positioning issues, misnamed tables, or missing elements before the layout goes live — avoiding confusion during a busy service.

Prerequisites / Requirements

  • You must be in the Floor Layout editor for the correct Revenue Center with at least some tables on the canvas.
  • Your account must have layout edit permissions.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. In the Floor Layout editor toolbar, click the Preview button (typically represented by an eye icon).
  2. The canvas switches to preview mode, displaying the floor plan exactly as it will appear to staff in the Reservations Grid view.
  3. Review the layout for:
    • Correct table names and numbers
    • Accurate table positioning and spacing
    • Proper wall placement and room divisions
    • All expected tables are present
  4. When you are satisfied with the preview, click the Preview (eye icon) button again to exit preview mode and return to edit mode.
  5. Make any necessary adjustments in edit mode, then click Save when the layout is ready.

Common Troubleshooting / FAQs

Q: Preview mode is not showing my most recent changes. Unsaved changes may not appear in the preview. Make sure your recent edits are reflected on the canvas before entering preview mode. If they are on canvas but not in the preview, try exiting and re-entering preview mode.

Q: The preview looks correct but the Reservations Grid view looks different after saving. The Grid view may need a full page refresh after saving a layout update. Navigate away from Reservations and return to the Grid view to reload the latest saved layout.
