Settings — Catering Diner

Feature Overview

Catering Diner settings control the guest-facing catering ordering experience through Katalyst online ordering. When your restaurant offers catering through the Katalyst platform, this section lets you configure how catering appears and operates for guests placing catering orders online — including lead times, order constraints, and Revenue Center-specific catering rules.

How It Affects the System

  • These settings govern the catering ordering experience for guests using the Katalyst diner/online ordering interface. Changes here do not affect catering orders entered manually through the POS or the dashboard Catering section — they specifically apply to guest-initiated catering orders.
  • Configuration is scoped per Revenue Center — use the Revenue Center tabs to set up catering rules for each section or location separately.
  • This settings page is only visible when the Catering feature is enabled for your restaurant.

Prerequisites / Requirements

  • The Catering feature must be enabled for your restaurant. This section will not appear in Settings until Catering is activated. Contact [email protected] to request activation.
  • Restaurant edit or view permissions are required.

Common Troubleshooting / FAQs

Q: The Catering Diner option is not visible in my Settings menu. Catering must be activated for your restaurant by the Katalyst team. If this option is missing, your account does not yet have the Catering feature enabled. Contact [email protected] to request activation.

Q: Catering orders from guests are coming through without enough lead time. Verify that the minimum advance notice setting in Settings > Catering Diner is configured to the number of days or hours your team requires. If the field is set too low or to zero, guests may be able to submit same-day or short-notice catering requests. Update the lead time requirement and save — it applies immediately to new online catering submissions.
