Accessing the Floor Layout
Feature Overview
The Floor Layout builder is a digital canvas where you create and maintain a visual map of your restaurant's dining room. The layout you build here powers the Grid view in Reservations, giving your team a real-time, spatial view of table availability and seating status. Each Revenue Center has its own independent layout, so multi-section restaurants can maintain separate floor plans for each area.
Prerequisites / Requirements
- Your account must have layout edit permissions (typically manager-level or above).
- A Revenue Center must be active and selected — layouts are built per Revenue Center.
Step-by-Step Guide
- In the left-hand navigation, select the Revenue Center you want to configure.
- Navigate to the Floor Layout page for that Revenue Center. It is accessible from the sidebar or from the Grid view in Reservations.
- The layout editor opens displaying your current floor plan, or a blank canvas if no layout has been created yet for this Revenue Center.
Common Troubleshooting / FAQs
Q: The Floor Layout page is not visible in my navigation. Floor Layout access requires manager-level or above permissions. Contact your restaurant manager to confirm your account has been assigned the appropriate layout edit permissions.
Q: I opened Floor Layout but the canvas is blank even though I've built a layout before. Confirm that the correct Revenue Center is selected. Each Revenue Center has its own independent layout — a blank canvas means no layout has been saved for the currently selected Revenue Center. Switch to the Revenue Center that has an existing layout if needed.
