Removing a Vendor
Feature Overview
If your restaurant stops working with a supplier, you can remove them from your Katalyst vendor list to keep your records clean and up to date. Removing a vendor does not delete their name from any historical invoices — those records are preserved for accounting and auditing purposes.
Prerequisites / Requirements
- Your account must have Vendors edit permissions.
Step-by-Step Guide
- On the Vendors page, click on the vendor you want to remove to open their record.
- On the vendor detail page, click the Delete button or the equivalent remove option.
- A confirmation prompt will appear asking you to verify the deletion.
- Click Confirm (or equivalent) to permanently remove the vendor from your list.
- The vendor will no longer appear in the Vendors list or in vendor selection dropdowns when creating new invoices.
Common Troubleshooting / FAQs
Q: I deleted a vendor but they are still appearing in my Inventory invoice records. Deleting a vendor does not retroactively alter historical invoice records. The vendor name remains on any previously created invoices for record-keeping integrity. Only new invoices created after the deletion will no longer have that vendor as an option.
Q: I accidentally deleted a vendor. Can I restore them? Vendor deletions cannot be undone through the dashboard. If you need to restore a deleted vendor, you will need to create a new vendor record with the same information. Contact Katalyst support if you require assistance with data recovery.
