Reports

Overview

The Katalyst POS provides several built-in reports that staff and managers can view directly on the iPad without leaving the floor. These include an Employee Sales Report (personal sales summary), a Restaurant Closeout Report (full-day financial summary), and the general Restaurant Report. All reports can be printed directly from the POS.

Prerequisites

  • You must be logged in to the POS.
  • Access to each report type is controlled by your staff role permissions.

Employee Sales Report

The Employee Sales Report shows a personal sales summary for the currently logged-in staff member, including check counts, item totals, tips collected, and payment method breakdowns.

How to view it

  1. Tap the Menu (≡) icon and go to Settings → Financials → Employee Sales Report.
  2. Your sales data for the current session loads automatically.
  3. Tap Print (if available in the navigation bar) to send the report to a receipt printer.

Restaurant Closeout Report

The Restaurant Closeout Report is a full-day financial summary for the entire restaurant. It is titled RESTAURANT CLOSEOUT REPORT and shows totals across all staff, payment types, and order modes for a selected date.

How to view it

  1. Tap the Menu (≡) icon and go to Settings → Financials → Restaurant Closeout Report.
  2. The screen shows the report for today's date by default (displayed as RESTAURANT CLOSEOUT REPORT FOR [date]).
  3. To view a different date, tap the date displayed in the header to open a date picker.
  4. Tap Print in the upper-right corner to print the report.

The report loading indicator spins while the data is being fetched. The Print button becomes active once the report is fully loaded.

Restaurant Report

The Restaurant Report provides a broader sales and transaction summary for the restaurant. It supports filtering by date range and revenue center.

How to view it

  1. Tap the Menu (≡) icon and go to Settings → Financials → Restaurant Report.
  2. Use the date and filter controls to set the report period and area.
  3. The report loads and displays the results in a table view.
  4. Tap Print to print the report.

Troubleshooting

Report is showing a loading spinner and not loading

  • Confirm the POS has an active network connection to the server.
  • If loading takes more than a few seconds, try navigating away and returning to the report.
  • If the issue persists, log out and back in to refresh the session.

A report section or date is missing

  • Some report data depends on cash outs being completed for the relevant shift. If cash outs are pending, some report sections may show incomplete totals.
  • For historical reports, verify the date picker is set correctly.

The report is still loading. Wait for the data to finish populating before attempting to print.
