Combining Checks

Overview

The Combine Check feature lets you merge two separate checks into one. This is useful when guests who started separate tabs want to pay together, or when items were accidentally rung on the wrong check and need to be consolidated.

Prerequisites

  • You must have at least two open checks at the same location.
  • The check you want to absorb items into must be open on your screen.
  • You must have the appropriate staff permissions to combine checks.

How to Combine Checks

  1. Open the check that will receive the combined items (the destination check).
  2. Tap the Actions or check options menu.
  3. Select Combine Check.
  4. The Combine Check dialog opens, showing a grid of all other open checks available to merge.
  5. Tap the check you want to combine into the current one.
  6. The selected check's items are moved into the current check, and the source check is closed.

What Happens After Combining

  • All items from both checks appear on the combined check.
  • The combined check retains the destination check's information (table, order mode, etc.).
  • The source check is removed from the system.
  • Any payments already applied to the source check carry over to the combined check.

Canceling a Combine

  • Tap the X (close) button in the upper corner of the Combine Check dialog to exit without making any changes.

Troubleshooting

No checks appear in the Combine Check list

There are no other open checks eligible to combine at this time. Checks that are already closed, fully paid, or in cash-out cannot be combined.

Combine Check is not available in the menu

This option may be restricted by your staff permissions. Ask a manager to verify your role has access to check management actions.
