Home Screen & Table Layout

Overview

The Home Screen is the central hub of the Katalyst POS. It shows a live visual map of every table in your restaurant so staff can see at a glance which tables are open, occupied, or reserved. From here, staff open checks, manage reservations, and navigate to all other areas of the POS.

Prerequisites

  • You must be logged in to the POS app as a staff member.
  • Tables must be set up in your restaurant's back office layout before they appear on the map.
  • The Point of Sale app mode must be selected at login (vs. Table Management).

Reading the Table Map

When you land on the Home Screen, you see a top navigation bar and a map showing all tables in your restaurant.

Troubleshooting

A table is not appearing on the map

Tables are configured in the back office Layout editor. If a table is missing, ask a manager to verify it is added to the floor plan in back office. Staff may need to log out and back in to see layout changes.

All tables appear the same color

Section colors are assigned in the back office. If sections have not been configured or colors are not assigned, all tables show without a colored border.

The map is empty

Confirm the correct Revenue Center is selected in the top navigation bar. If tables are assigned to a different revenue center, switch to that area using the Revenue Center button.
